Research!America invites representatives from member organizations to join the Board of Directors and distinguished guests for a luncheon on March 11, 2015, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Meridian Room of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The annual meeting will include election of directors, reports from leadership and other member responsibilities.

The luncheon program will feature keynote remarks from Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD-08), ranking member of the House Budget Committee. Representative Van Hollen, in his seventh term in Congress, is a tireless advocate for Maryland. His district includes most of Montgomery County as well as portions of Carroll and Frederick counties, home to many of our federal medical research, science and health agencies.

The program will also include guest speaker Alex Silver, co-founder, executive chairman, CEO and executive board member of the EB Research Partnership (EBRP), the largest national organization dedicated to funding Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) research. Alex has been the key architect of the EB Research Partnership and the venture philanthropy funding strategy to accelerate scientific breakthroughs, move treatments towards the clinic and ultimately find a cure for EB.
