The Rogers Society Ambassadors shared with their legislators how their research showcases global health as America's health and that Georgia needs more support to continue doing well while doing good.
Georgia is at the crossroads of global health. The University of Georgia invested $1.6 million to create The Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases and hire 3 researchers, which has since brought in an additional $44 million to the state of Georgia and attracted many more top-level researchers and professionals. The Task Force for Global Health started with 3 employees and now employs 55 people. Now is the time for legislators to champion global health research as a valuable and important industry for their families and neighbors in Georgia.

Ambassador Rosenberg explains The Task Force for Global Health Research's work to Rep. Lewis' staff Ben Spears, and Hyatt Howard, July 29, 2009.

Professor Colley gives a tour of the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases in the Paul D. Coverdell Center at the University of Georgia to Research!America program manager Jennifer Chow, and Rep. Broun's district director Griff Doyle, July 2009.
