Highlights from local economic impact studies
The Pharmaceutical Industry Association of Puerto Rico
reports that the industry directly generates about 27,000 jobs and supports another 90,000 jobs in the region.
According to a report from BIO and Battelle,
the commonwealth also recently established the Puerto
Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust to make grants, loans, or investments in
research.
The Centennial Fund , established
jointly by the Puerto Rico Industrial
Development Company and the University
of Puerto Rico, is a $40
million endowment to support research facilities.
