Maintaining the Integrity and Independence of the Peer-Review Process
Research!America is committed to protecting against any effort to interfere with or politicize the integrity and independence of science, including the peer-review process that has helped to make America the world leader in medical research. We believe that preserving the integrity and independence of this process is essential for the vitality and quality of medical and public health research and is therefore in the best interest of the American public.
Scientists must continue to have the freedom to find answers to how diseases are caused and spread, and to learn how to develop ethical and effective preventions and treatments for them.
Research!America strongly encourages all stakeholders (including the scientific community, patient and advocacy groups, the industry sector as well as concerned individuals) to speak out in defense of the freedom of scientific inquiry.
