Manager, Membership and Alliance Development
Research!America, an alliance that advocates for science, discovery, and innovation in order to achieve better health for all, is seeking an energetic and experienced professional to be part of a dynamic membership and development team. Our member organizations include academic health centers, universities, pharmaceutical companies, voluntary patient groups, scientific societies, independent research institutes and associations.
The Manager of Membership and Alliance Development will manage day-to-day membership relations including prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, retention, and recruitment activities.
Job responsibilities include researching and cultivating prospects for alliance membership; communicating policy and advocacy priorities and points of collaboration for member segments; drafting and implementing membership moves management strategies; and writing compelling membership communication materials.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of and experience in health policy and advocacy environments; a bachelor’s degree; a minimum of four years’ experience in not-for-profit membership development, patient advocacy, and/or health policy and advocacy; excellent communications skills; history of developing and cultivating relationships; demonstrated ability to understand, verbalize and write about the mission of Research!America; and demonstrated project management skills. Knowledge of development process is a plus.
