Medical practitioners and experts examined challenges in research and innovation at a day-long forum hosted by Research!America in Washington, D.C. Dr. Ned Sharpless, acting commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), was one of many keynote speakers. He focused on his agency’s mission and the importance research plays in the FDA’s approval process for drugs and clinical trials.
