Protect and Strengthen NIH in Fiscal Year 2027
The federal funding process begins with the President’s Budget Request (PBR), after which Congress sets funding levels and advances appropriations bills through committee markups and votes. For FY27, the President has proposed a 12% cut to NIH, cuts that would severely undermine scientific progress and stall medical innovation.
