David Reese, MD

David M. Reese, M.D., is executive vice president and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Amgen. In this role, Reese oversees Digital and Technology Innovation, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, and the development and deployment of artificial intelligence across the enterprise. Reese joined Amgen in 2005 and previously served in various leadership roles within the Research and Development organization. This includes most recently functioning as executive vice president of Research and Development, where he oversaw Amgen’s worldwide research efforts and the advancement of Amgen’s pipeline in all therapeutic areas.

Prior to joining Amgen, Reese was director of Clinical Research for the Breast Cancer International Research Group (BCIRG) and a co-founder, president and Chief Medical Officer of Translational Oncology Research International (TORI), a not-for-profit academic clinical research organization. Reese is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed training in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine and subsequently served on the faculty at UCLA and the University of California, San Francisco.
