Advocacy Hour: Ring Your Representative to Stop the OMB Rule

Calling all researchers and advocates! Join Research!America for a can’t-miss webinar on Tuesday, August 11th at 1:30 p.m. ET. Instead of our usual fireside chat, we’re doing something different: an interactive advocacy training and phonebank focused on contacting Members of Congress about the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) proposed rule, “Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance”—a rule that could upend how federal research gets funded, from grant terminations to political interference in merit review.
Whether you’re new to advocacy, looking to sharpen your skills, or just want some dedicated time to do outreach with others, this session is for you. We will be joined by our very own Erin Darbouze, MPH, who brings over 15 years of federal government affairs experience, including many years working on Capitol Hill. She’ll share practical tips and tricks for effective in-district advocacy, with plenty of time for your questions. Then we’ll wrap up with a group phonebank. This is your chance to make your voice heard alongside fellow researchers and advocates.
